When the unexpected happens in business, it can seem as though the rug has been pulled from under your feet. This can cause you to feel uncertain and even make you want to put everything on hold, including your business.
This is when you need to dig deep and find that certain something that made you want to start a business in the first place.
Here are some tips to help you bring back the sparkle in your business:
1. Re-group
First of all, give yourself some breathing space and re-group. Allow some time to assess where your business is at, and if you find certain things aren’t moving in the direction you want don’t be afraid to return to the drawing board and start over, this isn’t defeat, think of it as starting anew. Only, this time you are not starting from scratch, you are drawing from experience.
2. Re-set
This may be a good time to re-set the focus of your business. You may find that what you initially wanted has now changed, so let’s get into the big picture of your business.
Try this exercise to help you go within:
• Close your eyes, take a deep slow breath in and exhale out (do this at least twice until you’re feeling calm)
• Visualise your ideal business, focus on the outcome
• Ask yourself some questions, i.e. What would you love to see?
• How do you want to help others?
• Imagine lots of clients or customers queuing up to work with you or purchase your item
• If it’s an online business, imagine seeing the notifications of orders on your smartphone
• Hearing the notification sounds of payments going into your bank account
• Imagine all the raving reviews you are receiving from happy customers
• Picture it clearly
• When you are ready, slowly open your eyes
How do you feel now with this fresh perspective?
Sometimes we have to step back, and look at the bigger picture through a fresh pair of lenses to help us move forward.
3. Adapt
Part of being an entrepreneur is being able to adapt. Just because something worked before doesn’t mean it always will. Things change, people change, and so we have to go with what is relevant now in order to support the demands of our clients and customers.
4. Keep on moving

Don’t stand still in a pool of stagnancy, instead move with the current, ride the wave, find the highest peak and use it to propel you to an even higher point than ever before
Keep on moving. Once the momentum picks up, keep it going by being consistent. This will help to maintain the rhythm through and turn up frequency, that way you’ll always be tuned into success.
5. Get excited!

Business doesn’t have to always be serious, it’s okay to have fun along the way too. Many entrepreneurs think they have to work, work, work and hustle, hustle, hustle constantly. This is a sure-fire way to breed misery, resentment and could even lead to burn out and put out the passion you once had for your biz.
Instead, keep the sparkle alive! For instance, when you’ve achieved something share it with your clients, customers, and everyone you know. If you’ve helped people get amazing results, tell others, this builds enthusiasm and helps to create buzz about your business. Get excited about your achievements.
Don’t hide your good news, everybody loves hearing happy, feel-good stories, it brightens up their day, it gives them hope and it shows you are human too.
With fresh ideas and a new vibe? You’ll be breathing new life into your business in next to no time, this is what will make your business sparkle.
