The way you start the day has an enormous impact on how your day goes.
Set yourself up for success from the very beginning of your day. That way, success becomes inevitable.
Here are some things I do in the morning to help give me a head start:
1. Gratitude
I always like to begin my day with gratitude. So, as soon as I wake up, I thank God for waking me and give thanks for my loved ones and my home. Setting yourself up from a position of gratitude helps you to realise all the good things you have in your life and makes you feel good, too.
Prayer
This leads me into prayer and thoughtful reflection.
Meditation
I like to start the day with a calm state of mind. So, I take a moment to pause for breath, for quiet contemplation and being still. Cultivating a peaceful mind is a good habit to have; it helps you to remain calm even while there’s lots of noise and busy-ness is going on around you. This is very useful in today’s modern world.
Exercise
Then I work out. Sometimes I do Pilates, or I do aerobic and strength combination of exercises with light weights. I also like to mix it up with dancing too, as I love to dance. I think it’s important to enjoy your exercise routine, that way you are more likely to keep doing it. Fitness can be fun!
I always feel ready to go after exercising. It helps me physically and my mind is more focused. I would say exercise is one of the key factors to keep motivated.
Hydration
I like to start the day by drinking water. It flushes out the impurities and can give you a quick energy boost, too. I also have a glass of celery juice regularly too.
Breakfast
Having breakfast is important. Nutrients are essential to good health and the energy helps to sustain you. Think of it as fuel that will help to keep you going during the morning. If breakfast is really not your thing, you could try making smoothies with fresh fruit. That way, you’ll still get a burst of goodness in you to prepare you for your day.
I do this morning routine even before I look at my phone to check emails and my lists of tasks for the day. This means I am calmer and more collected and can start my day with clarity and from a place of positivity, as opposed to reacting and letting external issues dictate my day.
Establishing a morning routine that works for you will help set you up for the day ahead feeling more assured, optimistic, and excited about your day.
